What a day!! Thank you to the Salem State University faculty and staff who loaded up our pantry with all the essentials and even the snackies that children love. This has been so well received by our clients and families. Thank you Christina Cassano, Professor at SSU in the Childhood Education & Care Department. Thank you to all the incredible humans at SSU. We feel your hearts with ours!

We developed a relationship with the Sperling family through the creation of our website and branding materials. Sperling is not just friend to us professionally, they are friend to our community. A heartfelt thank you to Jodi and Mike Sperling and their beautiful children for this massive shop to supply our little free pantry.

As we wait for the federal government to reopen, the clients and families we serve at LEO cruelly hang in the balance. Depending on the moment, SNAP beneficiaries can hear their benefits are cut, they are returning at 50%, or they are returning in full with no timeline for when.

This is deeply unfair to children, the disabled community, and our elderly population. Bottom line, it is no way to treat human beings.

Currently, 64% of our LEO children are fed at home by SNAP.
75% of the clients we see in Community Services rely on SNAP.
The numbers are staggering and we are only one small corner of the country.
